76-3 and all three Ole Miss QBs looked good, we are loaded at WR, we looked PEDESTRIAN on Defense, but we have the most athletic, maybe the deepest, quickest, strongest Dline and Secondary we have ever had @ Ole Miss. I did not see a shut down crazed unit of destruction line up against UT Martin...we gave up 290 yards and 100yards on the ground against UT Martin. How many sacks did we have against UT Martin? I thought UT Martin would have run out of QBs and RBs by halftime. The biggest hit of the game came from UT Martin.
Maybe we just played a base defense with a few twists up front at the Tackle positions, maybe someone forgot to set the alarm clock for the defense, maybe we were rusty because we have not hit that much in practice, maybe Freeze was right....we have been reading to many press clippings about how great we are and we were not as hungry as he thought we would be after the humiliating beat down we received from TCU and Arkansas. Maybe we were a little tight against UT Martin.
I was not overly impressed with the Oline...Kelly and the RBs made them look better than they played. This was UT Martin, our backfield should not have been evading UT Martin defenders in our backfield, shaking off tackles in our backfield or with our QBs picking themselves off the ground after throwing a pass.
I believe we have the best Ole Miss team we have had in decades! When you beat a team 76-3 (the highest point total in college football yesterday) and two of your top players and one of your headhunters did not suit up, while your number 1 WR was shaking the rust off and Rod Taylor was on the bench as well.......AND it is the first game for Kelly and a host of others....Maybe, just maybe we should look at the glass as 7/8th FULL.
