The March 31 deadline to football and basketball allows ticket holders to evaluate how the teams performed against SEC competition and any possible changes to leadership. Every year we play 2 or 3 SEC baseball games before the deadline with absolutely no idea of how those teams will wind up in the rankings, how our team will wind up in the rankings or if coaching changes will be made. We are asked to pay for some of the most expensive seats on campus with no idea of the season's outcome because of an artificially random date relative to baseball season. It seems like for the purposes of buying baseball tickets only, it could be moved back to May 31 with no harm to baseball ticket sales.
