Rawlings released its 2017 Top Prospect list from the Jr. National Showcase. Here are a couple names of interest.
Ben Bianco - C - 2017 - Oxford, MS
With a long and athletic frame, Bianco projects well as he continues to add strength to his 6-foot-2 frame. A primary catcher, Bianco showed off a quick transfer and footwork behind the plate and a smooth, fluid swing from the left side with present barrel skills.
Michael Spears - OF - 2017 - Winter Park, FL
Committed to Mississippi, the 5-foot-11 Spears showed nice projection all around with solid tools at present. A right-handed hitter, Spears showed off quick hands in the batter's box with a consistent feel for the barrel. Defensively, Spears showed off fluid actions in the outfield with an easy arm action and repeatable mechanics.
