Make sure you read yesterday's Nuggets, which include some info on Denzel Mitchell's decommitment, as well as more than 1,000 words on other prospects.
Ole Miss will visit the nation's No 1. linebacker, Mique Juarez, today out in California. As you know, he visited Oxford for the LSU game, and it went well. The problem is distance and convincing him to leave California.
"I see that down South it's a different tradition down there with football." Juarez said. "Being at Ole Miss was a great feeling and people down there was great, the food was great, the coaches I loved, the commits, the players and all. It was a good feeling and just a different tradition, both the West Coast and the South. It's a good feeling down there, I loved it."
He's going to Oklahoma State this weekend. The USC Rivals site asked him about new coach Clay Helton.
"Now that they hired Coach Helton, it's a good push for them, he's been there and knows the system but it still doesn't make a difference of what my decision is and all that stuff," Juarez said. "I de-committed for my reason and not because of the coaching staff or anything like that. I'm still going on and still enjoying my process as the time is coming down short."
"I know Coach Clay Helton, I've talked to him before, so it really doesn't make a change."
Five-star linebacker Lyndell Wilson talked with Alabama Varsity about the coaching changes. Because he's from Montgomery, Ala., it'll be a difficult pull for any out-of-state program, but Georgia should get a huge push due to Kirby Smart's hiring in Athens. However, at the moment, Wilson maintains his order has three out-of-state schools not named Georgia out front.
"I don't know when I will decide," he said. "It may not happen until signing day. My order remains the same. Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, Oregon and USC. I don't have any official visits set."
I still think it's Alabama, but he's kept them fourth on his list for a while now.
