Can SEC West and $5 million a year bring a solid talent or will we be looking for the "dream job" candidate who may or may not work out?
We are always going to be a stepping stone job. A guy will come in, claim it is his dream job, and put on that ole miss hat.
And a few wins later, and maybe a bowl game or two, he is sitting in Auburn trying that hat on.
We are most likely to get a guy like the one at s m u or Memphis. Just a stop on the way to Texas or Florida.

I remember way back when Johnny Vaught stepped down and I presumed guys like Bob Devaney would be lining up for Ole Miss. How naive! We get Oxford good ol boys like the Kinards (no offense, just not major leaguers) We been doing that ever since. Im sorry Luke was thrust into this as I thought he was ok OL coach/recruiter.
The way things are going, I'll take that!! Days of successful coaches staying put are long gone---especially when there are opportunities to move up the food chain!
If he returns for another season his family may be the only one in the stands. Along with the heavy koolaid drinkers.
If I were the AD i would be looking for someone that is having great success in a midtier job in a good conference. Someone like Jeff Brohm at Purdue comes to mind.

You forgot to add 3-4 years of probation and 5-10 years of rebuilding before you can be a competitive program again.
I find it amazing that some of you are discussing firing Luke and getting a better coach. You're about to go on massive probation, you'd better hope Matt Luke agrees to stay on once the sanctions are announced.
