Jeffrey. First let me say, I'm no golf expert, I guarantee you know more about golf than me and I just wanted to run some thoughts by you.
DJ was under the average # of putts/hole for the tourney (1.71 with field avg. of 1.82) and Spieth was 1.75 for the tourney. I in NO way expected him to 3 putt 18 after that excellent approach, especially after watching Day make the same 5-6ft putt on 18. I fully expected a playoff that Spieth would ultimately win. My financial interest was in DJ (took him at 8-1 to win it all at the start of round 2) so I was rooting for what I wished would happen. Which I also think you did in telling your father DJ would 3 putt (as I take it you had money on Spieth by how you spoke in the podcast). Also, I think you stated in the podcast that you expect at some point for DJ to double a hole each round. Maybe he does more often, but he doubled only one hole the entire tourney (Spieth doubled 2). The only way I saw DJ doubling a hole on Sunday is if the pressure got to him (Spieth did double 17 opening the door for DJ). DJ played some great golf the entire tourney and succumbed to pressure when it mattered most.

I can't say I agree with you that the writing was mediocre to good at best. I thought it was very good and possibly great and was made even better by amazing performances (we do agree there).
