Well this will sting a bit, but it looks like Pat Forde wasn't trying to intentionally hurt Ole Miss by timing the story when he did.

According to the Clarion-Ledger: "Bjork told The Clarion-Ledger on Jan. 18 that the school hadn’t received a preliminary notice of inquiry, a notice of inquiry or a notice of allegations over the prior weeks."

So as of Jan 18th, Ole Miss claims it hadn't gotten its NOA from the NCAA. If they are telling the truth (!) that means it happened sometime between January 19th and 29th when the story ran.

So it seems pretty obvious that Pat Forde didn't intentionally time this to hurt Ole Miss. That's just smoke and mirrors from Ole Miss fans that don't want to admit that their coach lied to recruits by not telling them about the NOA to begin with.

Besides, if Forde truly wanted to time the piece to hurt Ole Miss the most, he would have run it on Wednesday or Thursday, not Friday, because by then, recruits had already flown in and were on campus where coaches could do damage control. If the story runs earlier, recruits still had time to cancel visits.

Just wanted to bring some facts and objectivity to the board. It seems to be in short supply on this topic.
