I went to the Lafayette County Detention Center in an attempt to either gain a copy of the incident report (preferred) or to read the incident report while taking notes on it.
However, I was told by the clerk that action was not possible as the report has not been released. The report would have to be subpoenaed in order to receive a copy.
I then mentioned that the Clarion-Ledger has a copy of the report and wished to know why I couldn't get the same.
"They could have gotten a copy from the accused," the receptionist told him as to how the paper got a copy of the report, "but it didn't come from here."
