Hey all. I went down a bit of a rabbit hole on this Tik Tok ban bill because Thomas Massie among others were trying to get people
Concerned that it could be used to ban domestic companies. It cannot be. It’s limited by the defined term foreign adversary county which means Russia, China, Iran and NK. If your product, app, website, service, etc is US owned you are in the clear as long as you don’t distribute or host the banned apps. Now after the patriot act, I don’t trust our govt to stay within the lines but in its face this has a very limited effect.
