On 2 guys with the same number on the same side of the ball ? My understanding was same number 1 on O and 1 on D but the Lodge Nkem deal was new toe. Explanation pls.
They did it a couple years ago in the Egg Bowl with Nkem and Mathers but they were not on the field at the same time, I think the player is deemed ineligible and its a 5 yard penalty. Surprised they made that mistake again being that they switched his jersey at half-time last time they did it. If both are on the field at the same time its a personal foul 15 yard penalty.
No two players with the same number can play the same position in the game. For example, if Lodge (number 5), had lined up at wide receiver, RNK (also number 5), could not line up as a wide receiver. He could line up at fullback.
