There will be no positive way to spin it. Looking at the totality of this season, we probably should have lost to Georgia. I know we played the game of our lives, but clearly this team struggled to find consistency week in and week out. But even if with a hypothetical loss to UGA, if we just take 2 out of 3 from UK, LSU, and UF we would be guaranteed a playoff spot.
This would have been the easiest year to make it when you look at our schedule, the rest of the field, and the fact that this is the most talented team we've ever had.
I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, and I do hope we find a way to reload for next year. But man this just sucks. Especially after seeing some of the other losses that happened after our game last night. The SEC is really hard to win big in, but it really looks like this was our golden opportunity.
