Below is my (somewhat) educated guess on who is who in the zoo come 02SEP2023 vs Mercer.

Slot – Jordan Watkins J.J. Henry OR Dayton Wade
LT – Jayden Williams
LG – Eli Acker Victor Curne
C – Caleb Warren
RG – Jeremy James Quincy McGee
RT – Micah Pettus
TE – Michael Trigg Caden Preiskorn
WR – Tre Harris Bralon Brown (If on team)
RB – Quinshon Judkins Ulysses Bentley IV OR Kedrick Reescano (TF)
QB – Jaxson Dart Walker Howard (Spencer Howard will transfer)
K – Caden Costa
Defense
Starter Backup
FCB – Deantre Prince John Saunders
BCB – Markevious Brown Zamari Walton

MLB – Monty Montgomery OR Ashanti Sistrunk (If on team) Tyler Banks

(OP Note: I don't know what new DC PG is going to run as a base defense or what he is going to call those positions. I named them after what we called our guys when we went to a 3-3-5 look while I was coaching.)
After putting this together, I think it is fairly easy to see where we are going to be thin at again and where we need to double down on any QUALITY available players that hop into the portal after the spring.
5 true freshmen in the projected 2 deep and 1 projected to start (he is special, for sure). Honestly, I project Perkins to be our version of Will Anderson/Harold Perkins.
OL is scary, 2012 thin. We can't expect any of our TF linemen signees to contribute, the jump is just too big and none of them are Laremy Tunsil. We need at LEAST 2 more OL, one of which can snap the ball if Warren goes down again.
The loss of Battle, Igbinosun, and Johnson in the secondary hurt. Maybe Ahmad Brown or Daniel Demery, both TF, can provide depth. We need to add some quality there, at least 2 more players.
I would like to see us add a punter.
We could also use another solid RB (Dillon Johnson?) to go along with what we have.
I have stated previously that I expect JD to win the QB position and Sanders to transfer.
TF Cayden Lee could get reps at Slot, but I think that position is good.
Bottom Line: We need more SEC type players. We are still very thin at several positions. That is all.
ETA: Thanks for the omissions/mistakes you guys pointed out. I have been working on this all day while at work, closing it and opening it between doing it and my job...making a word document first then copying it on here after not being able to copy and paste. I got confused a few times obviously. I sincerely appreciate you guys cutting me some slack.
