The onsides kick Bama recovered was a SIGNIFICANTLY more obvious play where Bama should have been penalized for batting the ball 20 yards downfield towards the goal line. That was the ONLY thing that made the score close in the end. Without the no call on this play the margin of victory would have been two touchdowns.
