The Texas Longhorns postgame press conference was over. They'd been thanked by the moderator and it was time to go. But Jahdae Barron took a moment to share his message, before he left the podium: "We won. We truly know who our leader is, and that's God and Jesus Christ. And ultimately, just having the ability to use the gift that He gave us, to share with the world, it's been amazing."

He specifically noted the wildfires in Los Angeles and the attack in New Orleans, and the fact that so many people are dealing with heartache right now. Against that backdrop, Barron wanted to express how thankful he is to have had the opportunity to compete tonight.

First time eating at St Elmo’s on Thursday evening this past week. There is nothing special about their shrimp cocktail, nothing at all. It’s not bad, but it’s exceptionally just avg. all other food was very good, place was cool…but I’ve had shrimp cocktail at numerous places in Louisiana that St Elmo couldn’t even touch. So, given the hype, it was very much a letdown, but again it wasn’t bad, just an avg shrimp cocktail and a cocktail sauce with WAY too much horse radish!
