Second stint coaches

To use a phrase from the Athletic..

I really can’t recall a time this has actually gone well, but maybe I only remember the times it has not.

Bad:
Bobby Petrino- Louisville
Mack Brown- UNC
Gary Anderson- Utah State

Went okay ish:
Mike Riley- Oregon State
Greg Schiano- Rutgers

Others you remember?

All and all it seems like it never goes amazingly well the second time around. And for the record, I think Frost to UCF is going to be a total bust. A lot has changed since 2017 in college football. Hell a lot has changed since he coached two seasons ago.

Do we have what it takes to sustain this kind of success?

This is not meant to be a negative topic, just a big picture hypothetical discussion. You look around at what we’re doing in football and basketball, and it’s a lot of fun, but you see many millions of dollars worth of rosters, high level coaches, etc. I wonder all the time if we can keep this ball rolling because historically we haven’t been able. We are a smaller school with a small fan base and alumni compared to some of these programs like an Alabama or Ohio State for example. With that said, we have less money.

I know revenue sharing is coming but can we sustain this level of success in an environment where we have to depend on the fans and limited boosters we have to pay players? Just not sure where our ceiling is. What are the chances money runs out?
