Unless some miracle happens, it’s going to be a really bad year again.
Seems as though the only thing holding us back right now is a bad contract. We could absolutely go hire Eric Bakich right now, and we would be the biggest program in the country making a hire this cycle. I’m sure we will kick the can and it will be explained away that we had to make a basketball hire, if Beard were to leave. Which might end up being true. The Bianco goose is cooked though. Look at where Arkansas has consistently been, and look at where Ole Miss has been. I’m sure 99% of folks expected us to capitalize on the National title and consistently be a top program. Far from it. It’s over. Outside of an 8 week stretch or so and a 10-1 run, he’s been dog shit for 3 years.
