I’m bored and maybe my fellow recruiting junkies will have some thoughts/insight.
Seems to be some very good top end talent in MS next class. I know it’s early and a lot of guys aren’t really on the radar yet, I mean not for those of us just looking at the rankings. I know coaches already know and maybe some of you that are more connected to Ms Hs football will know of some guys.
Anyways we all know Kam Franklin who is the 5 star DL from Lake Cormorant. He’s #26 nationally overall. Not much to say here, obviously would be huge to pull him in. If anybody has any thought of where he, or anybody else I mention, is leaning, feel free to drop them in here.
Next is Braylon Burnside from Starkville. 4 star / 105 nationally. Nothing would be sweeter than going 2-2 for the last two elite WR’s to come out of that HS. You know we are selling the AJ Brown angle and the fact that MSU and Leach have little to no success putting WR’s in the NFL. Leach had Crabtree like 14 years ago and a couple of undrafted guys that had NFL success, but that’s it. Lane can sell the Ole Miss history with AJ and DK, Elijah, potentially Mingo, Amari Cooper, Robert Woods, etc. Obviously this battle will be much bigger than Ole Miss vs MSU, but if he stays in state, I can’t see him believing MSU is his best option.
I’ll lump these next 3 guys together. All are 4 stars. I don’t know much about any of these guys. Jeffery Rush - Pascagoula - DL - 166 nationally. Daniel Hill - Meridian- listed as an ATH, but at 6’1 220 I would guess LB - 202 nationally. Noreel White - Ocean Springs - listed as an ath, 5’11 170 so slot WR, RB, CB maybe - 234 nationally ranked. Any insight on these guys or our history at their HS?
Last of the 2024 4 stars or better is OL Isaiah Autry from Tupelo but now at Itawamba I believe. Seems early on to be an Ole Miss vs TN battle for him despite not having an official offer from TN yet. His mom did go to TN and played basketball there, so there’s that.
Lastly Caleb Cunningham is now a 5 star and the #10 player in the country in the 2025 class. He’s at Choctaw HS and it will be a massive battle to get his signature. We still have a while before it gets serious, but this kid is special. He truly seems to be very interested in Ole Miss in the early goings though.
Side note: Imagine Walker White running this offense with guys like Burnside and Cunningham to throw to. That could truly be special.
