Watching the recruiting rankings, it's really interesting to view these as a potential gauge of which fanbases are writing big NIL checks. That Ohio State class is downright nasty, and I can't remember seeing a program with FIVE 5 star guys committed. One thing that's interesting is how LSU is recruiting so well even though they aren't known to be a big money school. I think breaking into the top 10 would be a solid goal for Ole Miss. If we can do that, we will be able to fill the gaps more with the portal and be less dependent on it. That's the way to go long term because there's something to be said about player development. The note that really stuck out from practice was the OL needing time to learn to play together. In a year where our schedule is back loaded with tough matchups, it gives us the time to do that. In a year where we're playing top teams out of the gate, that could be more challenging with too much roster turnover. It will also be interesting to see how these rankings begin to fluctuate year to year when some of these top teams don't perform after a massive investment.
