Thinking of upgrading my Home Internet/ Wifi setup but it all gets so confusing.
Current Setup:
- ATT Fiber and their Gateway all in one box.
- Have a Netgear WAP (6E) upstairs.
- My ATT plan is 2.5 Gbps but only get 700-800 max (if I am close). Usually only 100-300 Mbps
Qs:
1: A Geek Squad guy said I'd get better internet speed if I replaced by ATT Gateway with a higher end modem. Is that true?
2: Does fiber need a modem? Are the Fiber modems? different than cable ones?
3: I like the idea of my Wired Access Point upstairs. Mesh is trendy but seems flawed, imho. Thoughts?
Thanks!
