Turning the page to ‘25 a little bit, I’m really interested in what I’ve seen from Austin Simmons. He could be the guy to take us to a national championship in the next few years. I’m only referring to Austin Simmons QB potential, not the team around him as a whole, assuming he has the pieces around him to succeed. For you guys in the know and have watched him at practice, etc. when you grade the last few quarterbacks we’ve had, where is Austin Simmons’ ceiling compared to those guys? How far along is he in his development? How does he compare stylistically? He is obviously extremely talented and well composed. His arm talent looks to be as good as Matt Corral. He looks as if he would do really well in high pressure moments which is one of Jaxson’s flaws. Just don’t know if Simmons has that competitive “fire” and arrogance like Matt Corral and Dart have had. He seems to be more of a smooth finesse QB rather than the type that will tuck the ball and run you over like Jaxson or Matt.
