No it's Freeze's fault. Hey I just hope there are enough cowardly Reb fans like you to make sure Freeze keeps his job so we all get to smack him around for at least one more season LOL
Damn man get a life, and yes this falls directly on Freeze, Hugh is the 8th highest paid coach in the NCAA and I honestly feel like my dang kids could have the same record as him this year.
I understand that, Lyman. But these guys are not even CLOSE! And nothing has changed! Makes me believe either they are not being coached correctly, or don't listen (talent or discipline issue). Even freshmen on other teams have shown promise, but there's no change for us. On the bright side, though, it's good to see many youngsters get in there and play, like Hibbler and Ordway. Recruiting LBs needs to a priority for Ole Miss.
Sorry Lyman, but I have to agree with Blindside on this one. No team builds up a huge lead against great teams and then blows it! I've often said it's coaching and player discipline. Could the problem be conditioning, too? We've shown to hold our opponents very well in the 1st half and appear as a top 10 team. The second half everything goes hay wire.
It's one thing to be inexperienced, but our defense isn't near where they should be regardless of freshmen. They can do much better than that. William Gay de-committing certainly hurt us as well.
The problem is we aren't making adjustments at half. We are playing games close or winning at the half yet don't have a plan when the other team inevitably makes adjustments. Our redzone offense is horrible with no real vision to speak of. Our lines are being blown off the ball on both sides. A change at OL, LB and DB coach needs to be made along with a new DC. That's on Freeze, he also needs to get over his fear of bubble screens just because he broke Treadwell. That stuff happens.
Adjustments? How many times does it take to figure that out? You're right about those coaching positions.

Like anything in life, underachieving is often questioned. And it's your team! And you expected more. Supposed the Chicago Cubs were down in the World Series 4-0 and you were a fan of theirs. Wouldn't you be distraught? Be honest, Lyman.
No. My life doesn't revolve around Ole Miss athletics or any other athletics. I have plenty of other interests and options for entertainment at my disposal.
I have pride in Ole Miss, and have other interests-fishing in the gulf, being with my girlfriend, and traveling by air or road. To me, Ole Miss is like a son or daughter who can do so well academically, but fails anyway. I'd like to see my son or daughter become more prominent in academics much like I'd like to see Ole Miss do the same athletically. Hell, we've got a beautiful stadium, fans everywhere, money, and we are not producing results. This bothers me. To be mentioned in the same light as Alabama, ND (when they were good), or Michigan is my goal.
In 5 seasons you expect to go from 2 wins to being compared to the teams you mentioned? Hardly realistic expectations, considering the Ole Miss football program has had to endure decades of apathy and neglect from a lousy athletic department.
If instant gratification is what you want, then you should cheer for Michigan.
And this attitude from fans is why Ole Miss will always be a bottomfeeder program. There's no excuse for having a 3-5 record a year after going 10-3.

If Alabama or Michigan or another blue blood has a coach with a 3-5 record, that coach is on the hot seat. If it happens at Ole Miss, scared fans like you are saying 'But but but we're Ole Miss! We have always sucked, just remember what Freeze did last year!"

Here's what will happen: Freeze will limp to the end of this season and pick up another 1 or 2 wins. Ole Miss won't go to a bowl, and scared fans like Lyman will offer every manner of excuse and reason why fans need to leave Freeze alone. It will be the players' fault, it will be the asst coaches fault, it will be everyone's fault but Freeze.
Cause fans like Lyman are scared to death of losing Freeze.
Freeze is going to go into the offseason and see this. He's going to know he didn't do a good job this year, but he's going to see that Ole Miss fans aren't really that upset with him. They are scared like Lyman and crying about how everyone needs to leave him alone!
If fans like Lyman had the guts to hold Freeze accountable, he'd get nervous and make strong moves in the offseason to make Ole Miss competitive again.
Ole Miss fans, it's your choice. If you let scared fans like Lyman decide, Ole Miss will continue to stink under Freeze cause he'll see that he can sit in Oxford and collect $4 million a year for doing nothing, and scared fans will defend him.
If you guys tell the scared fans to shut up, Freeze will see he needs to get in gear, and the program will be in much better shape.
Your choice. Don't let the scared fans win.
