“It is as close to a death penalty as you can get without having that actually happen,” Loyd said. “Coach Farrar has been questioned extensively, in fact, five times by the NCAA about those allegations.”

“To use the excuse that everyone else is doing it, that’s just not a good defense,” Loyd continued. “That’s not a good reason. That’s not an acceptable reason. Some of these rules, you wish they weren’t there but the fact of the matter is they are — and they’ve got to be enforced, and they’ve got to be followed. And if you don’t, you’ll find yourself in the position the University of Mississippi athletic department has found itself.”

According to Gentry, Ole Miss has submitted its response to the NCAA’s latest notice of allegations last week. The school’s response is expected to be released to the public sometime this week.

If it as bad as we are hearing from some sources.......

Look for bjork to get a raise and a fancy new title

You can't make this stuff up

Would not be surprised to see Ole Miss' response to the 2nd NOA come around 5pm today. Basic PR: Dump any bad news right before the weekend.

What does that even mean? The death penalty is a sanction. A case is made of allegations. How can a case be close to a death penalty. That lawyer needs to go back and study the law of non-contradiction - it would help him in his law practice.

If he is saying that the facts in the case are consistent with facts in other cases that resulted in a death penalty then I could cognitively process the quote. If not, it makes no sense

While I feel the penalties could be very severe Ole Miss has very little chance of receiving the death penalty

Maybe this will help: "The current list of allegations brought against Ole Miss and its football staff is the most significant list of charges against a NCAA program in 30 years, according to those with knowledgeable about the history of NCAA allegations."

30 years goes back to 1987. The year SMU was hit with the Death Penalty.

Repeating a stupid proposition doesn't make it truer or smarter.

What makes it stupid? The fact that you are an Ole Miss fan so you think anything that casts Ole Miss in a potentially negative light is stupid?
The fact that you have to be oblivious to this planet to not realize that dozens of programs have done much, much more egregious things over the past 30 years, including most of the SEC. It's not just naive, it's laughably vapid. Some programs cover for felons, some operate and cover up rape culture, some allow obvious criminals to compete until they go to prison, some operate no-work courses for credit, some accept any kind of paper at all, some pay through untraceable church funds, some just pay chunks of cash in paper bags (which might be discovered by accident!), and all do something that the NCAA considers a violation. You have a sports team favorite, but pretending the way you are doing (unless you're about 9) is just stupid.

Ah, so you didn't read the article before you commented on it, that explains it.

Here again is the relevant quote: ""The current list of allegations brought against Ole Miss and its football staff is the most significant list of charges against a NCAA program in 30 years, according to those with knowledgeable about the history of NCAA allegations."

This is a claim made by an Indiana reporter with far better sources both inside and outside the NCAA than you have. Note: It's a claim based on actual charges made by the NCAA, not what you think or believe other programs have done.

Glad you're up to speed now.

The article was drivel. See first note, again.
On second thought, you're too adolescent to converse with. Bye.

no way on the death penalty....but it's going to be bad

look for bjork to get a raise

Yes. The response says that freeze is not responsible, and our resident carpetbagger is hiding from responsibility.,,,,,

So apparently the Rebelettes are to blame for this mess.

A lot of talk about how bjork is "standing behind" Freeze

I rather suspect that Freeze has a lot knowledge of bjork s corruption and bjork is just trying to avoid being exposed for the corrupt liar he is.
