The Kansas City Royals lost 106 games last year but now after beating Baltimore are set to play the Yankees in the next round starting Saturday.
Witt is tremendous. He won the batting title. He drove in the winning run in both victories. He is a clutch hitter and superb fielder.
After High School, he committed to Oklahoma where his Dad, another Major Leaguer went. However, JR was the second overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft and signed for almost $8 million. If he had gone to OU, he would have played against us in the 2022 CWS.
I don't keep up with MLB anywhere near as much as I did even 20 years ago but I admire Witt and am rooting for the Royals especially against those hated Yankees.
