Neal and Chase have alluded to this previously, but we're seeing it play out in real time now.
Everyone is pissed after a bad loss, I get it. However, the level of anger is at levels I'm not sure I've seen before (fan for 30 years) which is clearly derived from the fact that many key players who underperfomred yesterday are paid large sums of money, not by the school, but by the fanbase broadly. So, there is now an ownership complex where fans (IMO justifiably so) are taking off the gloves when seeing a lack of ROI when it matters, SEC play.
This has the possibility to get really messy and support for the program could unravel more quickly than it was created if we have another "bad" loss. Not to mention there are many kids who have no real allegiance to the school and just say "F this, I'm mailing it in."
Hope I'm wrong, but all the signs are there
