My metal security door at my backdoor deadbolt was “frozen” this morning and would not turn to unlock. I could turn it the other way I had to use a hair dryer to thaw it. Somewhere along the way in life, I learned that you should never put WD40 in a lock because the oil gets into the lock springs, and over time it will get gummed up with dirt.
So any of you young homeowners, who think it might help to lubricate your locks, try a dry lubricant like graphite. Hope this helps.
