Has the new landscape made it way more improbable for mid-majors to make a run to the 2nd weekend?

The S16 will consist of Duke and teams from B12, B10, SEC.

And that’s with a bunch of regular season champs winning conference tournaments, so the field wasn’t diluted or anything.
