It will never happen because it makes too much sense BUT why not have a national championship game between the two highest ranked G5 teams?
If they were to win out, take Tulane and Liberty, have them play in between the semi games and the big natty, at a neutral venue, etc. Who wouldn’t watch that?
Isn’t that more attractive for all involved? No NY6/future playoff bowl truly wants them, the power 5 opponent on the other side would rather play someone else, you get better matchups in the future college football playoff/one less deserving power 5 team doesn’t get screwed, and the number 2 G5 team actually gets rewarded and doesn’t play in the New Orleans bowl and plays for a title.
