It seems to be an unfortunate reality that you refuse any alternative other than driving guests into being the trolls you immediately write them off as. The thread you mock was your chance to show what a grasp you had on the state of your program, to show that you aren't a blind homer who attacks first AND second, your chance to engage in honest, thoughtful discussion...

I'll admit that its difficult to understand anyone's interest in Ole Miss, regardless of where they're from, but the truth is that Ole Miss is in the SEC West, we play them every year and they are right down the road from us. That makes things going on with them of interest to a die-hard LSU fan...

The only people that have been proven to lie at this point in all of this is Hugh Freeze and the OM athletic administration to the OM fans and to kids they were recruiting. Maybe Lewis took money maybe he didn't but the only places its being reported he did are sites that support OM, yet OM fans are all over it just like it was a proven fact. Still wanting to place the blame on someone else when it was Hugh Freeze led staff providing extra benefits to get kids to sign with OM and OM supporters alone with the coaching staff providing benefits to keep them happy. Even according to OM fans OM was involved in the Lewis bidding, then there are fomer OM players admitting on national TV that OM coaches gave him money, paying utility bills. Were all those calls Reverend Hugh made to escorts for him or were some of them for recruits. Who exactly decided it was a good idea to place all of the investigation on Houston Nutt? That should let you know OM is clueless about how to defend this, without Nutt being slandered OM would still have the Reverend as coach, OM could still be footing the bill for his hobby,which will likely be a bargain compared to what dragging Nutt into this mess will cost and the Reverend could have continued being the hypocrite he is.
Mullen isn't under investigation, you better worry about your own team, while you've still got one.
Well now that you ask, I was tired of OM buying players, that's why it concerns me. Then there is the embarrassment it caused the conference, everyone in other conferences think the SEC cheats, then OM proves them right. Don't give me that everyone is doing it defense, everyone isn't doing it to the level OM was, you actually think kids from Chicago and other metro cities decided on OM because of Hugh Freeze? Anyone outside of Oxford can see what he is, a snake oil salesman with shifty eyes, but he always led with his religion right? Of course Nkemdiche just happened to bump into Shaq at the restaurant they took all the recruits to for supper at LSU. Kentucky spends too much time paying basketball players to care about football. Tennessee is busy paying off rape victims to pay players, Vanderbuilt too. I'm sure that donation to Cam's fathers church had absolutely nothing to do with him going to Auburn. The bottom line is no human is perfect. Freezes hookers didn't have a whole lot to do with his coaching. Was he a hypocrite yes but you poor unfortunate bastards that are so excited over the fact that you are humping the tire on your trailers are just sad. For the record I am not a state fan. But to your comments, everyone in the SEC is not cheating. The guys at Vandy you speak of were found guilty, obviously the victims weren't paid. All the others you mentioned are in the SEC west which had basically become an auction house.But none of those you mentioned got on national TV and said their coaches gave them money did they? How many of them had family members meet with the NCAA and tell them about the extra benefits the family received for their son giving OM his services for the better part of 3 years. Then OM decided to slander a former coach, who wasn't very happy about it and managed to bring down the guy who took his place. You want to point fingers and claim the only people telling the truth are the ones backing OM,
From the beginning of this, OM fans were being told this amounted to nothing by their coach, their administration and their media, that was a lie. Then those same people told you that what happened were minor violations, well they lied to you again. Then all the major violations happened under Nutt, lied to you again. I understand being a fan you want to believe your administration and coaches, but how many lies do they have to tell you before you begin to think they are telling you the truth? But OM fans see it as everyone else lying, the kid at State, every media outlet in the country, everybody is lying, but OM and the OM media. OM was openly cheating, handing out cash, paying familie's utilities, furnishing vehicles. Not only was Freeze lax with keeping the rogue coaches he hired in line, he was so oblivious to the world outside his little shell he wasn't even aware he had players in serious trouble.
But when all is said and done, the NCAA is a voluntary club, when you signed up you agree to obey their rules. OM didn't, if OM doesn't like how they been treated, take your ball and leave, there is another option, the NAIA awaits.
The problem is that Ole Miss fans repeated and reguritated those lies at every turn with a self-righteousness that would have made Freezus proud... they went all-in on their savior, belittling and mocking anyone who even dared suggest they might be wrong. And now they just shrug and say 'everybody cheats, everybody lies'... funny how that works, eh?

I wasnt talking about what might or might not have happened at LSU. That doesnt have the slightest thing to do with the discussion no matter how desperately you want to deflect. I'm talking about what DID happen at Ole Miss, about how their administration DID lie about it and how Ole Miss fans DID swallow those lies and DID attack people who now - guess what? - were right all along.
This isnt about what if's and maybe's and how about's... its about facts. Facts OM fans are just finally beginning to accept, even if they dont want to admit it.
Its a pretty long walk from 'it never happened, its just something jealous Miss State fans are making up' to 'so what, everybody does it', but you guys made that leap almost overnight. Guess what? 'Everybody does it' is a defense my 6 year old might use, but shouldnt be how a grown man defends a university... do you agree?
Don't want to seem argumentative but Auburn doesn't cheat. We've been clean since Pat Dye was there almost 30 years ago.
Auburn has managed to go undefeated twice in recent years (winning the NC both times) and playing for the NC again in 2013.
So there is at least one SEC team that wins BIG without cheating.

I don't know if there is any cheating going on at LSU or not, but one thing I do know and so does everyone else who has any interest in college football is that there was cheating going on at OM. Even OM fans know there was, but instead of "GO REBS" for a rallying cry, its "It's everyone else is doing it, why are you picking on me"
actually there are whispers about that in the athletic department....bjork is pushing for a name change, but with ticket sales down, donations down....some want to put it off
