Long story short, I’m a dumbass and sent someone money before I had the product in hand. He claimed his daughter was sick and he had a doctors visit to pay for, incredibly scummy. After waffling on a meetup for 24 hours, he finally blocked my number. Here’s the catch though, I have his drivers license and after doing more due-diligence than I’d like to admit, I discovered that it’s not fake and it’s actually his license. I filed a police report, but the question is, can I do anything else? He’s got a lot of driver violations and ultimately had his license suspended, and subsequently was driving while it was suspended. Any police/lawyers on here who could advise how far I realistically can take this? Is small claims court a dumb idea? It was $400, so not life altering, but significant enough that I don’t want him doing this stuff ever again. It’s not his first time scamming on Facebook marketplace either.
