First, the OL.
Our scheme (rpo, misdirection, sweeps) is not a "road grader" scheme if you're wondering why we don't "plow" like the AR OL does. They fire off straight forward, almost always double team before moving to the 2nd level. It's a north/south offensive running game. Y'all are comparing apples to oranges and then in addition you're expecting things our scheme is NOT designed to do. With that said, I'm still not sure why WE can't fire off the ball and borrow some of that scheme with a heavy TE in the game...but we don't. ...or we can't. ....yes, it's frustrating as hell.
Second, the LB'ers.
Outside of Gates, we just simply don't have it this year. Period. Scheme IS the reason we've missed on LB's. You can book that.
Lastly, secondary.
We're both young, and thin in talent. So there you go. In a 4-2-5, you've pretty much gotta have 8 solid players to rotate or have triathlon/iron man type athletes back there. NOBODY can run all night against SEC WR's without some QUALITY rest.
But hey, then again- this is college football. On any team (besides the Alabama's of the world), you're going to find gaps in talent- at several positions- and you'll ALWAYS need lady luck on your side to have a magical season.
So to a certain extent, "It is what it is."
