I do get what Gabe was trying to do with looking at history, but I think it’s hard to draw parallels to what we will see going forward.
I don’t know how you assign your automatic bids since we had a Power 5 before.
Also, we really have a Power 2 now and a semi-Power next 2, so I don’t think the weighting of 10 win seasons will be the same for Big 10 and SEC teams.
All that to say, we don’t know what we don’t know. I do appreciate the exercise though, and I agree we will likely see the occasional scenario where a 10 win Power 2 team will miss the playoff.
