For all of our fans and posters who spent countless hours working to lower our expectations every season and screaming at us to be "realistic" about our chances of ever competing with the top SEC teams. For all of our fans who were actually satisfied with a 6/6 or 7/5 record (as long as we beat State) and a minor bowl.
Isn't this more fun?
Now we just need to adopt the same attitude and expectations about a couple of other sports and stop settling and trying to make ourselves happy about mediocrity.
There is no reason we can't do this in every sport. It is probably a lot easier to accomplish in the other sports, anyway. Smaller schools are successful in those every year.
No more excuses and endless lists of reasons why we should never expect to really compete. No more "just want to be competitive and put on a good show" (not getting blown out is not the real goal).
We need to expect more in every area. It can happen.
