Corral’s heroics. Moore’s TD. Missed XP.
I thought that was the death knell for this program. That felt like rock bottom. No hope. Ballgame.
Yeah, Kiffin had been hired. But he flamed out with the Raiders. Bolted from Tennessee. Flamed out at USC. Working his way back up from FAU.
But really, how successful could he really be? Luke’s players, his reputation of moving. Really no reason for high expectations.
Look at this program Five years later.
Most talented roster we’ve ever had. Our brand is hotter than it’s ever been. We’re pissed that we only won 10 games this season - but only Paul opted out of the bowl game.
Kiffin is firmly entrenched. There is a really good nucleus of young, hungry talent coming back. We just had our best high school class in more than a decade and several 4- and 5-stars have already transferred in.
Kiffin is building the kind of program that is going to be a contender for a long time to come. More important, the brand has become one that will attract the players we need to go from contender to champion.
We’re going to get there. Sooner rather than later.
