Very disappointing game on a number of fronts. Georgia did amazing job, played great, had great environment. Perfect storm there. Ole Miss didn’t help it by not playing well defensively the entire game. Not one yard lost on negative play, didn’t touch quarterback the whole game. Really discouraging effort and then didn’t do much offensively after two touchdown drives. No excuse to lose way Ole Miss did. Basically never stopped them. It doesn’t matter what you do on the other side if you play like that, won’t win there.
Got a chance to win ninth game this weekend. People used to think it was a big deal.
Dart was cleared to go back in game. Just decided not to. Good for Spencer Sanders to get a chance to play. Should be fine. Feels better today. Should be fine.
Offensive system can look really good, but can look really bad. When you go three and out really fast, it looks bad. Took some risks early and it paid off. Started fast and then Georgia adjusted to the tempo. It’s hard to practice against it.
That’s about as hard of a situation as you’re going to go into. Buzzsaw environment, Bowers back, lots of crowd news, playing special defensive front. Not ideal to lose Pettus and then lose Williams three plays into the game. Causes anyone issues. Have to coach better and recruit better. Georgia has 4-5 years of roster of top classes, allow them to sustain depth and handle injuries.
Kiffin “not going there again” when asked about Texas A&M. Said he’s not answering that.
Been watching “disaster film,” and hasn’t paid attention to what’s happened elsewhere (response to A&M follow up re: reaction to Fisher's firing). Profession he’s in. Etc. Is what it is.
Anytime a game has that big of a deficit, there’s more coaches could’ve done. Was aggressive on defense but made no sense to see results. Just couldn’t create negative plays. Knew if played safe, they’d die a slow death.
Had to move Warren to guard with multiple injuries. McIntyre hurt snap hand. That was very frustrating. Will have to say how that injury plays out to figure how they play moving forward. Brycen Sanders is an option, Kiffin said.
