Got into game-planning some today, but will still have camp-like practices next two days. Felt like attention picked up going over Furman a bit. Still a lot of work to do. A number of players on offense have missed time recently and that’s been a setback. He anticipates those guys getting back and moving forward.
On scrimmage, Kiffin thought defensive line played extremely well again and caused offense issues. That’s been the theme of camp. Lots of different body types in that unit. They’re hard to deal with.
Offensive line has a chance to be improved but they haven’t played together and that’s going to take time.
Charlie Weis Sr. visited to see his son and grandchildren. It was good to have him around. He had good things to say about what he saw in practice and in the organization.
There’s a lot of competition. There’s no deadline to settle those competitions. There’s a lot of competition on the OL.

Kiffin said he’s not settled on a backup quarterback yet. They’ve all done good things and he has confidence playing Howard or Simmons.
