I’ve told this story on here before, but going into the 2003 Ole Miss football season, I was 11. My mom got me two tshirts at the start of the season. One was red, and one was gray. I wore the gray one to watch Ole Miss squeak past Vandy. The next weekend, I wore the red, and we lost to freaking Memphis.
I had already decided the gray shirt was better, but my mom said to wear the red one to the Texas Tech game because everyone was supposed to wear red. We all know what happened. I decided then the red shirt was done. I wore the gray shirt to every other game until the infamous LSU game. I was set on wearing the gray shirt because it was obviously lucky, but my mom made me wear red because again everyone was supposed to wear red. We all know the rest.
The gray shirt was 10-0 that season. The red shirt was 0-3.
