Much simpler days as this home movie attests... Staying at a motel with the regular folk.. See a lot of Mickey Mantle.. Also Jake Gibbs at the 3:24 mark... See HOF Phil Rizzuto signing autographs at the motel for fans..

Minnesota won 3-1 before 15,898 fans.. The game took 1:42 to play..

Gibbs did not play.. Mantle, nearing the end of his career, smacked a PH HR in the top of the 9th... **EDITED TO ADD** Did some researching..... the HR Mantle hit was the 534th of his career.. He would not hit another HR until Sept 19, nearly a month later.. Mantle finished his career with 536 HRs... retired after the 1968 season...

The loss dropped the Yankees' season record to 59-63...

The Yankees' starting 3B was Bobby Cox, who'd go on the manage the Atlanta Braves in the 90s.. Cox went 0-3 that day..

Just an interesting look at the game and setting way back in the old days..
