I'm not really adding much, but I can confirm TAMU coach Rob Childress has Mike Clement on his list to people to consider and talk to. This is just a Childress thing, not a Ross Bjork thing. Ross doesn't start until July 8, RC Slocum is the current acting AD and the AD wouldn't be involved in a hitting coach decision. I'm told Ross isn't involved in the search at any level.
Clement was at TAMU as an assistant from 2009-2011, and from the Aggies perspective an Ole Miss coach is desirable because the Rebels have dominated the series of late. Mike knows Texas and that program. However, as hot as Mike's seat may have been recently, Childress isn't loved over there, and there's a segment that has some power and wants him gone as soon as possible. Now Ross isn't firing a baseball coach this summer, but I do think it's debatable if Texas A&M has any better job security than Ole Miss.
I'm following it but don't think there's much to update right now. If there's an offer then he'll have a choice. We'll see.
