I know I gripe about posts and posters sometimes but I’ve stuck with this board for many may years and seeing folks get nostalgic today reminds me of one of my favorite RG stories - where the good of this board and its members really shined (or shone?) through.
It wasn’t too many weeks after the baseball team won the national title in 2022….a poster, I don’t remember their name, posted on the board that he had been to Omaha with his family and while they were there, his 10 or 11 year old son lost his baseball that a few players had autographed, which I’m sure left him devastated.
If I remember correctly, he was posting in hopes someone here had possibly found it, or at least knew someone who possibly found it.
His post blew up with well wishers, people giving comfort, and some who were throwing out plans for what could be done by Ole Miss.
Fast forward a week or two later, he posted again saying Ole Miss sent his son a package that had a new baseball with player autographs and I think even some other stuff.
I believe to this day someone - or multiple someones on this board got that done, and even if they didn’t — I know that one fan felt a real outpouring from fellow Ole Miss fans.
For those of y’all who remember what I’m talking about - forgive me if I’m not remembering with 100% accuracy and feel free to chime in if you know or remember anything else about this story.
