Egg Bowl 2012. We had to have it to get to a bowl, and we needed to get to a bowl to show the '13 class (Tunsil, Nkemdiche, Conner, Laquon) that we were on the upswing. And 2011 was so bad. Completely dominated by La Tech and Vandy and Kentucky. Think about that. Lost to BYU at home. Lost to LSU and Bama at MSU by a combined score of 135-13. And then we hire a coach that was coaching high school football just 8 years earlier. After all that, going to a bowl in 2012 was a pipe dream.
And MSU was pretty good in 2012. At one point in that year they were 7-0 and ranked 12 or so. But Bo throws 5 TDs on them, 3 to Moncrief. We held them to like 30 yards on the ground. After the game they played that Dan Mullen film where he said "we're never losing to that team again."
The guys from King Kobraz, wherever you are now, great job on the Feed Moncrief deal. Perfect timing.
