The family and I were at CheerSport in Atlanta this weekend in the World Congress Center and International Convention Center right beside the Mercedes Benz Stadium. First off… cheersport is overwhelming as hell. Like the largest cheer competition in the world. If your daughters gym gives you an option to do that competition or somewhere else, pick somewhere else.
1.) Witnessed a murder over one of those rental electric scooter things just outside our hotel.
2.) A man was found murdered in the park near the Ferris wheel
3.) another family watched a gang murder at the neighboring condo from their Air BnB
4.) homeless people everywhere
5.) was offered drugs no less than 5 times
6.) girls found air tags in their bags.
7.) random creeper ass dudes followed my wife and girls around almost constantly
I’m not sure I’d go back if we made it to the Peach Bowl in the playoffs next year. And I was just there 2 years ago. I never once felt safe for me or my family the ENTIRE time downtown. I brought my EDC with me the second day and carried it into the damn competition cause the security guards weren’t even checking anyone. No metal detectors. Just wild man… wild.
