I have a friend that works in the federal government in Washington DC. He has a real job that he shows up for. One of the 6%ers.
However… there a bunch in his field, team, etc that are all WFH and have been since COVID. He said the majority of them are afraid that DOGE is going to expose that most of them have 2nd full-time jobs. He said the amount of fed employees double dipping is astronomical. He said most fed work on takes up an hour or two in most people’s days.
Those federal employees gravy trains are about to come to a halt. However… they are accustomed to making an extra $80k+ a year with their 2nd job. Bought houses based on that extra income. The panic in DC is real.
