Thinking about a July ‘25 Golf excursion to Scotland. I think I recall some time back there being a thread related to this. Anyway, need some recommendations regarding courses to play, which are the best ,etc.

Looking at flying into Glasgow. To the east of there, all within 90 miles roughly, on the east coast, are :
St Andrew’s (no brainer), Kingsbarns, Muirfield and Carnoustie.

To the west of Glasgow, all within 50 miles roughly, on the west coast, are:
Royal Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry

Would like to play 4 times at a minimum while there. The intent for nostalgia's sake, would like to hit the British Open courses which are listed above. At least 5 of those are still in the rota.

Our wives will also be travelling with us, however not playing golf so, along with the golf courses in mind and things for them to see and do while we play golf, what are our best choices? Obviously I know nothing about Scotland other than there are over 500 golf courses in the country. Besides Golf, what are some 'can't miss' things to do?
