Full disclosure:

It's the first day of school and I've got to go pick up my son from third grade here in a few. My notebook will be finished later this afternoon.

There was no media viewing opportunity today, but we did get to talk to Dan Werner, Matt Luke and Jason Jones. Here are some very quick hits from those interviews:

Werner:

-- The QB competition is ongoing. So far, it's way too early to judge anything.
-- More praise for Damore'ea Stringfellow. He continues to make plays. High on the WRs as a group. Really likes the two young guys, but admits the corps is so deep they'll be hard-pressed to play.
-- Excited about Jeremy Liggins at TE. Likes what he's seen from Dylan Barrett there as well.
-- Ole Miss' defense, especially the defensive front, is very good. It makes every day a "battle out there."
-- Ole Miss' corners are able to cover a beat longer than they did last year.
-- Lots of emphasis on ball-security with the quarterbacks. There are good practices and bad practices so far.

Luke:

-- Justin Bell working a lot at center right now.
-- Robert Conyers working with the starting unit at center right now. Job not won, but he's having a great camp.
-- Aaron Morris is moving well but he's not going through contact drills yet. Anxious to see how handles that. Could get cleared to have some one-on-one contact by the end of the week; could go through team drills Saturday at the earliest.
-- Javon Patterson getting a lot of work at left guard right now. Luke and Werner really complimentary of him.
-- Rod Taylor getting No. 1 snaps at right guard. He hasn't won the job yet, but there's been a major improvement.
-- Alex Givens is a redshirt candidate.
-- Michael Howard having shoulder and knee issues. Will have an MRI soon. Out for now.
-- Really pleased with progress Fahn Cooper is making. Got some work at LT last night so Laremy Tunsil could have a break.
-- Praise for both Sean Rawlings and Christian Morris. Said both could help at tackle spots.
-- Ben Still and Justin Bell are rotating the No. 2 snaps at center, though both are getting reps there with the starting unit as well.
-- Tunsil is about 90 percent healthy right now.

Jones:

-- Loves length and physicality of his top three cornerbacks -- Tee Shepard, Tony Bridges and Kendarius Webster.
-- Laquon Treadwell looks like his old self. Has been hit, gone to the ground, popped up and talked trash.
-- He also has praise for Stringfellow. (Common theme so far)
-- Kailo Moore would be his fourth corner right now. Freshman Cameron Ordway would be the fifth.
-- Jalen Julius spent the summer with the WRs, moved to CB a week before camp. Jones sees potential there.
-- Montrell Custis is working at husky.

There's more and I'll have a notebook later today.
