Quick trip to Memphis with wife and kids

Looking to set up a quick trip to Memphis and take my wife and kids to a Grizz game and then drive back through oxford for weekend baseball.

Would those in the know recommend staying at Pyramid or Peabody? Is it safe enough in the area around Peabody/FedEx/Beale to still walk around that area at night?

Any other places near FedEx that you could stay at and walk to arena that are a safe walk? Also if there are any family activities around the area worth checking out please let me know
