6. OLE MISS REBELS

The Rebels wore spectacular powder blue alternate helmets last fall in honor of Chucky Mullins, a former player who was paralyzed during a game against Vanderbilt in 1989. Thanks to equipment manager Ken Crain, Ole Miss paid attention to the finest details, color-matching the same blue from 1994 helmets by sending the outdated lids to Riddell and Schutt.

According to reports, we’re going to see them again this season at some point. :pimp:

Early in the year they should use a white helmet with the Ole Miss script. Those dark dark blue helmets in September must be baking their brains out. That has to be a self-imposed handicap.

Great idea. I've never considered a WHITE helmet. There are a myriad of colors/designs the athletic dept. could 'play with' to arrive at other distinctive options. I have always had a certain affinity for the powder blue. Was watching a show on the SEC yesterday (SEC Network) and they were reviewing all the teams and when it came to Ole Miss they showed some highlight reel of Laquon catching a TD pass and he had the powder blue helmet on. Looked good. :sunglasses:

2015 Ole Miss Rebels uniform update:
"Hypothetically speaking, what would you like to see as an alternate uniform this fall? Red pants with a navy ‘REBELS’ wordmark would be a clean addition, preferably worn on the road with white jerseys and a new matte red helmet featuring a secondary Colonel Reb graphic."

Red & Blue
In 1893, when Ole Miss' first football team was in training for a five-game season, Dr. A.L. Bondurant, organizer and manager-coach, later recalled that "The team had much discussion as to the colors that should be adopted, but it was finally suggested by the manager that the union of the Crimson of Harvard and the Navy Blue of Yale would be very harmonious, and that it was well to have the spirit of both of these good colleges." These were adopted as the football colors, and have since been adopted by the University as its athletic colors. The PMS numbers for the Ole Miss red and blue are as follows: Red 186, Blue 2767.

Here's a color chart. Ole Miss' colors have changed a bit over the years.

Hmmm.. the RTB for the crimson of Harvard is 200, 16, 46. The RGB for the blue of Yale is 19, 41, 75 according to the supplied PMS numbers from the OM sports web site.

Where did you get those?

From each university's website.

Here are the colors using the RGB values you provided. Much closer.
