Personally, I'll be honest. From an individual standpoint, I hope Buchanan wins it. He's had no off-the-field issues (Kelly's had no public issues either in Oxford, FTR) and Buchanan's leadership and character is through the roof. I also wouldn't mind seeing Kincade just grab the job with his athleticism and how his teammates would love it for him.
However, I've talked to a couple people that are in the IPF often. The general consensus I gather is that this job is Kelly's, and it's not even that close. I don't think it's Kelly an All-American by any means, but I do believe after talking to them the talent gap is visibly wider than what is being portrayed.
I'm pretty certain as long as Kelly doesn't have a misstep off-the-field or have just a mental breakdown in his first few games, it's easily Kelly's job.
This is just my opinion so I'll duck: I think the coaching staff still feels like the former could happen as to why they're letting this play out as long as possible.
