Mississippi continues its practices in Montgomery today leading up to Saturday's Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic. We'll have more coverage from that event shortly.
Currently out front is Neal's story on Olive Branch ATH Todd Mays, a guy you can't help but pull for.
Also, I talked to Tyrone, Ga., ATH Mike Hilton yesterday. He told me he hasn't heard from Freeze yet but is solid and excited if the new staff upholds his commitment. He watched Freeze's PC and was pumped up.
Rivals.com gave its Top Performers from Tuesday's practice in Montgomery. A couple Ole Miss targets listed.
Video interview with A.J. Jefferson.
Video interview with Anthony Alford.
Hugh Freeze talked to four-star Northwest CC offensive tackle Donald Hawkins, and while Hawkins was willing to sit down and talk, it is likely a very uphill battle. He's listed as a soft commit to Oklahoma State, but he's a Texas lean, and the Longhorns are going to his school today. Most think a commitment in the near future to UT is probable.
Asked whether OSU was cooling on him, or he was cooling on the Cowboys: "Probably both," he said.
Word going around is that Barney Farrar is set to return to Ole Miss in an administrative/operations role for Freeze. Farrar was most recently on Larry Fedora's staff at USM and was at Ole Miss under Ed Orgeron.
More as the day merits.
