From my limited understanding, SEC is limited to $22 Million for revenue sharing. If basketball is getting $8 million of it, did football just take a haircut?
I read that this year schools are front loading athletes with NIL money before the deadline which I think is June 30th. I can see how we do this for 25-26 season with frontloaded NIL, but how is that sustainable without cutting other programs out of the sharing pool going forward.
I understand that ADKC did what was necessary to keep Beard. Glad he did it, but this isn't "mathing" to me. Does he have an indicator that the SEC will push for a change like has been hinted after next season to compete with mid majors who have no football program? Does he think the 64 teams will pull away and form their own league after next year? Or did he just roll the dice and hope we do not get hit with a salary cap issue like Dak and the cowboys down the road? We can supplement with NIL, but they have to be above board approved by Deloitte going forward. No more collective money essentially. If I'm wrong in my understanding, please explain it to me like I am a State grad how SEC schools are spending $8-$12 on basketball and going to compete in football if the pool is $22.
