Full transparency: I'm really building this thread now so that later today, I'll be able to easier post from my phone. I'm going to be running some errands and such with my wife, so I'll be away from this laptop a good portion of the day. I will be keeping up with what's going on, however, and will post when and if I know something.
It feels like we're on Antwane "Juice" Wells watch at this moment. He is no longer visiting Texas this weekend, per sources and also other media reports. I've heard his price and would suspect it's close enough to being amenable for Ole Miss to get it done. Again, how and when all that becomes official is another thing.
I believe Ole Miss is going to get Oklahoma transfer portal defensive back Key Lawrence, but I've seen and heard no confirmation in that regard.
And I'll reiterate: There are more players who will enter the portal in the coming weeks, especially after their teams play bowl games. There's plenty of time to add said players, as Ole Miss has added players from the portal as late as 7-10 days after classes begin for the spring semester in late January. Ole Miss emphasizes intercession as a revenue-maker for the university, and typically, Ole Miss starts semester classes about a week after most of its SEC sister institutions. That's a little bit of a built-in advantage as it pertains to surfing the transfer portal.
